Assembly science panel sets AI infrastructure as first agenda to support three mega-projects
South Korea’s National Assembly Science, ICT, Broadcasting and Communications Committee has selected AI infrastructure as its first joint policy agenda for the second half of the 22nd parliament. The panel aims to identify legislative and institutional tasks to support the government’s three mega-projects. At a forum in Seoul, participating companies called for faster permits, expanded tax support, a dedicated organisation and regulatory streamlining. The government said it would review industry requests through inter-ministerial and public-private frameworks.

Regulators move to tighten rules for single-stock leveraged ETFs
South Korea\'s financial authorities have begun reviewing rules for single-stock leveraged exchange-traded funds, which have been cited as one factor behind rising KOSPI volatility. Measures under consideration include raising the basic margin deposit to 30 million to 50 million won from 10 million won, expanding mandatory education and requiring simulated trading and exams. Officials are also discussing limits on new listings, tighter liquidity provider quote rules and stricter controls on tracking error rates.
