KakaoMap offers dedicated map for Daegu Chimac Festival

Kakao is rolling out a tailored map service on KakaoMap to make it easier for visitors at large regional festivals to move around and find information. The company said on July 2 it will provide a dedicated map for the 2026 Daegu Chimac Festival through July 5. Users can search the festival in the app to see locations for chicken-brand booths, venues and key facilities, along with schedules and a real-time community feature.

KakaoTalk, KakaoMap to offer national park facility reservations

Kakao will launch a \"National Park Facility Reservation\" service on KakaoTalk Reservation and KakaoMap, it said on Monday. The service, provided by the Korea National Park Service under the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment, lets users search and book facilities such as shelters, campsites and village lodgings. Users can view information on 61 facilities across 24 national parks and use first-come, ongoing and lottery-based reservations, with existing operating policies applied.

Kakao begins first-ever partial strike at headquarters as five affiliates take joint action

Kakao\'s union will begin a partial strike at the company\'s headquarters at 10 a.m. on June 10, the first such action since Kakao was founded. Four affiliates including Kakao Pay, Kakao Enterprise, DK Techin and XL Games will join, with five entities carrying out the strike together. The walkout will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., excluding a one-hour lunch break. The dispute follows a breakdown in wage talks, centring on bonus allocation and RSU payments.
