South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT on Sunday afternoon reviewed measures to ensure service stability at its Sejong complex, ahead of a strike announced by Kakao's labour union for June 10.
The meeting was attended by Choi Woo-hyuk (최우혁), head of the ministry's Information Security and Network Policy Office, and Kakao Vice President Seo Young-hoon (서영훈), among others. They discussed plans for stable operation of major digital services such as KakaoTalk and KakaoMap, and an emergency response system.
The two sides will continue to monitor service operations and maintain a cooperative framework so information can be shared quickly and responses can be made if outages occur.
Choi said he urged Kakao to do its best to ensure service continuity and stability so people do not face inconvenience.
The ministry plans to continue to closely review the operating status of major digital services and to ensure thorough prevention and response to service disruptions that could affect daily life.
