KakaoMap is launching an indoor map service for the National Museum of Korea that lets users see everything at a glance, from exhibition halls by floor to locations of major artifacts such as the Pensive Bodhisattva.

Kakao said on the 30th it opened the KakaoMap National Museum of Korea indoor map service to help visitors explore exhibition spaces more conveniently.

Users can check exhibition hall information by floor by searching for the National Museum of Korea on KakaoMap. The service also provides locations and detailed information for 23 representative collection items, including the Pensive Bodhisattva and the White Porcelain Moon Jar.

It also guides visitors to key facilities such as the children’s museum, library, toilets and elevators to help plan efficient routes. KakaoMap also updated road view and navigation data for the museum’s outdoor areas. During the 'KakaoFriends and National Museum of Korea treasure hunt' event running from May 2 to 31, users can also check the locations of large event balloons on the outdoor map.

Kakao plans to add a feature that lets disabled users check mobility routes and to expand access by inserting KakaoMap QR codes into the museum’s guide leaflets.

A Kakao official said, "We focused on enabling anyone to explore the National Museum of Korea easily and conveniently through KakaoMap indoor maps." The official added, "We will continue to introduce indoor maps to various cultural venues such as exhibitions and performance halls to expand everyday exploration experiences."
