Kakao said on Thursday it will provide a dedicated festival map for "Octoberfest Seoul 2026" on KakaoMap in cooperation with Deutsche Oktoberfest Korea.

Octoberfest Seoul 2026 is the first Oktoberfest event to be held in South Korea with official approval from the city of Munich, Germany. It will run from Sept. 12 to 21 at the Oil Tank Culture Park in Mapo district, Seoul, with 10 German beer brands participating, including Paulaner and Krombacher.

Users can search for "Octoberfest Seoul 2026" on KakaoMap to check information such as the venue layout, booth locations, menus by booth and convenience facilities.

During the festival, KakaoMap will also operate its community feature, "On-site Talk". Users can share real-time on-the-ground information such as waiting times by booth, whether popular menu items are sold out and performances.

Kakao plans to install a large balloon shaped like the KakaoMap icon at the venue entrance and place information boards around the site. The balloon will also be used as a meeting spot and photo zone.

KakaoMap previously offered its "Run together with friends' locations" feature at "KakaoFriends Run 2026". It has also introduced dedicated event maps at the "2026 Daegu Chimac Festival" and a Stray Kids concert.

A KakaoMap official said the dedicated festival map is a service designed to help visitors check key information at a glance and enjoy the site more conveniently. The official said Kakao will continue to upgrade the service by working with a range of events so users can have a richer on-site experience.
