Kakao will roll out a tailored map service aimed at making it easier for visitors at large regional festivals to get around and search for information.

On July 2, Kakao said it will provide a dedicated map for the 2026 Daegu Chimac Festival on KakaoMap through July 5. The Daegu Chimac Festival is an event where visitors can enjoy various chicken brands along with performances, and about 1,150,000 people visited last year.

Users can search for the Daegu Chimac Festival in the KakaoMap application to view the dedicated map. The map displays locations and information for major facilities, including about 60 chicken-brand booths, performance venues, restrooms and information centers.

Users can also tap performance venue icons within the festival grounds, such as Daefrica Waterpia and Paradise on the Ground EGG Island, to view schedules and programmes for each venue in an intuitive way. Kakao will install a large symbol at the entrance and place signboards around the site to help visitors use the service.

At key locations such as booths and performance venues, the map will support "On-site Talk," a real-time information-sharing community feature. Users can use the feature to share waiting status by booth, whether popular menu items are sold out and updates from the site.

A Kakao official said the service was planned to reduce inconvenience users face in moving around and searching for information at large festivals or events. The official said Kakao will continue to expand the service so people can enjoy festivals more easily and conveniently.
