Kakao Mobility to build K-autonomous driving open ecosystem

Kakao Mobility unveiled a strategy to internalise Level 4 autonomous driving technology and build an open ecosystem to boost South Korea’s self-driving industry. At a conference in Seoul, executive Kim Jin-gyu presented a roadmap combining a proprietary machine-learning model, redundancy-based vehicle design and a validation platform linking simulation and real-world data. The company also plans an integrated safety management platform and expanded monitoring capabilities. It also introduced its late-night autonomous vehicle service in Seoul’s Gangnam area.

Kakao Mobility recruits participants for \'Give Shuttle 2026\' volunteer travel campaign

Kakao Mobility said on Sunday it will begin its third year of the \'Give Shuttle\' social contribution campaign that combines volunteering and travel. Operated as a voluntour program, it lets users apply for volunteer work and use free shuttle services through the Kakao T app. This year it will expand collaboration with brands and well-known figures. The first event, with Lush Korea on April 29, will recruit 70 participants on a first-come, first-served basis.

Kakao Mobility introduces taxi-ordering service at Bundang Seoul National University Hospital

Kakao Mobility said on March 29 it will expand its “Kakao T taxi ordering on behalf” service offline through cooperation with Bundang Seoul National University Hospital. The initiative is part of its support for people with mobility difficulties. The company provided a taxi web-call system that allows hospital staff to request taxis via work PCs. Visitors can give a destination at the information desk and receive trip details once a car is assigned.
