The National Information Society Agency (NIA) said on July 6 it won the AI Service Leader Award at the "2026 Korea Service Awards Ceremony: Service Day" hosted recently by the Korea Standards Association.
The award cited projects 추진ed through a citizen-focused leading project run by NIA and the Ministry of Science and ICT: building and piloting a Kakao T-linked mobility support platform for transport-disadvantaged people in Daejeon, and building and piloting a real-time medical resource information platform.
Kim Hyeong-cheol (김형철), NIA president, said the award recognised NIA's efforts to identify and expand public AI services that people can feel in everyday life, including mobility support for transport-disadvantaged people and easing the problem of patients being turned away from emergency rooms. He said NIA would continue to actively identify strong AI services.
