KTis will provide lifestyle-focused services through 02-114 ahead of heatwaves and the rainy season, including information on heatwave shelters and late-night pharmacies and taxi booking assistance.

KTis said on June 19 it will use 02-114 to guide users to the location of the facility closest to them among about 50,000 registered heatwave shelters nationwide.

02-114 also provides information on companies offering air-conditioner repairs, dehumidifier rentals, drainage and disinfection work for flooding damage, and leak and waterproofing construction to prepare for heatwaves and the rainy season. At night or on public holidays, it provides the location and phone number of the nearest late-night pharmacy based on information from the Central Emergency Medical Center.

It also runs a "call a taxi for me" service for older people who have difficulty using smartphones or taxi-hailing applications. When a user calls 02-114, a consultant confirms the caller's current location and books a Kakao T taxi on the user's behalf.

The service is available without installing a separate application or signing up for membership. Operating hours are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on both weekdays and weekends.

Kim Seong-geun (김성근), head of KTis' 114 business unit, said, "114 has steadily expanded its service scope beyond simple directory assistance to include seasonal lifestyle information and calling a taxi on behalf of users." He added, "We plan to continue expanding it into a lifestyle assistant that handles everyday digital tasks on users' behalf."
