[DigitalToday reporter Ji-young Lee (이지영)] Sh Suhyup Bank has launched the Everyone's Green Card, which offers up to 20 percent of public transport spending back as Eco-Money points. The product combines existing transport fare refund benefits with rewards for eco-friendly consumption and dining spending.
Suhyup Bank said on Wednesday it launched the Everyone's Green Card, combining benefits from the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment's Green Card and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's Everyone's Card, formerly known as K-Pass.
The product gives Eco-Money points worth 10 to 20 percent of public transport spending, depending on the previous month's usage. It also offers up to 20 percent rewards for using eco-friendly transport such as electric and hydrogen vehicles. Users can also earn points when using shared mobility services such as Seoul's Ttareungi bike-sharing system and Kakao T.
Accumulated Eco-Money points can be used like cash at 1 won per point. They can also be used for BC TOP point conversion, payments for mobile phone bills and public transport, eco-friendly donations and gift certificate exchanges.
The card also provides dining rewards. Customers earn Eco-Money points worth 10 percent of spending when using designated dining categories from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The benefit applies up to a combined total of 2 times a month, and the monthly earning limit varies depending on the previous month's usage.
Green Card members can receive additional points when buying eco-friendly products and using Eco-Money affiliated merchants. Incentives are also provided for cutting household energy use such as electricity, water and city gas.
The card is available to individual members aged 18 and older and comes with a postpaid transport function as standard. The annual fee is 8,000 won for BC Global and 10,000 won for Mastercard.
A Suhyup Bank official said the product was designed to help users receive transport cost benefits while practicing an eco-friendly lifestyle in their daily lives. The official said the bank would continue to provide financial services that consider everyday convenience and eco-friendly values.
