Woori Bank launches \'Nol World Card\' for foreign tourists, instant issuance at Incheon airport

Woori Bank said on Tuesday it has begun issuing the prepaid Nol World Card for foreign tourists on site at Incheon International Airport, launched with Nol Universe and Kona I. The service follows a three-party business agreement signed in March. It allows visitors to receive the card upon arrival and immediately use domestic payment and currency exchange services. The card can be used for exchange, top-ups and withdrawals through Woori channels and partners.

Assembly science committee approves bill to set up Korea Broadcast Media Telecom Promotion Agency

South Korea’s National Assembly Science, ICT, Broadcasting and Communications Committee approved amendments to create the Korea Broadcast Media Telecom Promotion Agency under a broadcast media telecom commission. The bill would merge the Korea Broadcast Advertising Corp and the Viewer Media Foundation, dissolving both on launch, with a planned 2027 start. The proposal faces hurdles including opposition party resistance, disputes over employment succession and business scope, and pushback from related ministries and organisations.

Mastercard completes South Korea\'s first AI agent live transaction, expands agentic commerce

Mastercard said on Tuesday that a CardInfoLink AI agent connected to the global mobility platform hoppa completed an end-to-end transport booking and payment in South Korea. The agent searched and reserved transport from Incheon International Airport to a hotel in Seoul\'s Gwanghwamun and completed payment using Mastercard Agent Pay. The company said it was the first AI agent-based live transaction conducted domestically and plans to broaden AI commerce partnerships and applications.
