Naver and Kakao are rolling out user support for the Chuseok holiday, using key services ranging from daily life information such as hospitals and free parking lots to transport and travel, content and shopping.

They aim to help users find needed information directly through search and maps during the holiday period. They will also offer content and discount benefits across services in line with demand for travel, leisure and shopping.

If users suddenly need to visit a hospital or find a parking space during the holiday, both Naver and Kakao offer related information through search.

On Naver, searching for "holiday hospital" or "24-hour hospital" shows clinics operating during the holiday period and their temporary consultation hours. It also provides information on emergency medical institutions, pharmacies and animal hospitals.

From Sept. 24 to 27, it will also guide users to about 9,000 free public parking lots opened by public and administrative institutions and schools nationwide. Searching for "free parking lot" or "holiday free parking lot" allows users to find nearby parking and get directions.

On Kakao Map, from Sept. 22 to 27, searching for "Chuseok free parking lot", "holiday free parking lot" or "free public parking lot" shows public parking lots opened for free during the holiday period. Searching for "holiday medical care" or "holiday treatment" brings up information on medical facilities operating during the holiday.

It is also strengthening information needed for homecoming and return trips and for travel.

Naver provides real-time information for airport users. Searching for terms such as "Incheon International Airport departure hall waiting time", "Gimpo Airport boarding time" or "Gimhae Airport congestion" shows waiting times by departure hall or the time from domestic check-in to boarding.

It also provides real-time airport parking availability, Incheon Airport duty-free shop hours and store locations, and flight information for airports in South Korea and abroad through search.

Users looking for places to visit during the holiday can search on Naver for "places to go" or "holiday places to go" to see themed destinations such as natural attractions, theme parks and cultural sites, along with user reviews. Naver's travel information homepage also provides travel information in South Korea and abroad on themes such as autumn trips and the long holiday.

Kakao will use the mobility functions of Kakao Map. With "friend location", family members and relatives can check each other's locations, and its ultra-precise ferry, bus and subway information, "set departure time" and CCTV functions allow users to check public transport and road conditions.

It also provides information for users visiting traditional markets to buy holiday ritual items. Users can search for traditional markets on Kakao Map, and at major agricultural and fisheries markets such as Garak Mall and Gyeongdong Market, indoor maps help locate stores and convenience facilities.

It also prepared content to enjoy during the holiday.

Naver Clip will provide short-form videos by date from Sept. 23 to 26, covering travel, Chuseok food, family, and exercise and health management. On Sept. 23 it will feature outings and travel, on Sept. 24 Chuseok food and recipes, on Sept. 25, the Chuseok day, family, couples and kids content, and on Sept. 26 exercise and health management content for returning to daily routines.

Users can also earn points while watching Clip. During the Chuseok holiday, "Feed Coin" earned by watching Clip will be paid at double the rate, with up to 2,000 Feed Coin per day. Users can exchange from 5,000 Feed Coin into Npay points.

Naver Webtoon will run a Chuseok promotional event from Sept. 21 to 27 that gives cookies for viewing new titles and completed works. Naver Series will run a "Chuseok combo" offering free passes for 100 web novels, while Munpia will make a total of 3,000 episodes free across 50 popular titles.

Kakao focused Chuseok benefits on shopping and travel and leisure products.

KakaoTalk Gift will run a Chuseok promotional event through Sept. 27 featuring holiday foods such as Korean beef, fruit and dried persimmons, and health and beauty products. Paying 150,000 won or more with KakaoPay Money provides an instant 10 percent discount of up to 20,000 won. Users who join an event to share Chuseok greetings can also receive random discount coupons of up to 90 percent.

KakaoTalk Booking will offer discounts on accommodation, exhibitions and dining. Through the "2026 Lodging Sale Festa, second half" programme, booking non-capital-region lodging products for consecutive nights gives discounts of up to 70,000 won. It will also provide discounts on some exhibition and dining products.

Kakao is also working to prevent phishing crimes that exploit the holiday season. Through KakaoTalk Channel, it will send messages to about 27 million people containing phishing crime cases such as "team mission scams", along with prevention features and response guidelines.
