SK Telecom will run a three-day "Digital Safety Campaign" at Incheon International Airport from Feb. 12 for customers traveling overseas with their families during the Lunar New Year holiday.

Through Feb. 14, SKT will provide "smartphone health checkups" for customers applying for roaming services at roaming centers in Terminals 1 and 2 at Incheon International Airport. It will also offer guidance for customers who want security checks, including how to block spam numbers and how to find unverified apps. Customers of SKT and other carriers can also make inquiries.

The campaign is being carried out with a focus on security for older customers who are not familiar with using smartphones. SKT plans to actively inform and support customers on smartphone security settings and methods such as installing apps that they may not know well.

For example, it will provide guidance on functions that identify unverified apps in advance to block installation, and functions that prevent changes to account and device information when a phone is lost during travel. If a customer agrees, it will also help set them up directly.

SKT will also support installation of SKT's A. Phone app, in which AI detects voice phishing in real time even during calls. A. Phone analyzes call content in real time and immediately alerts users to suspected voice phishing calls. The "AI Security" menu in A. Phone brings key security functions such as AI voice phishing detection and safe blocking together in one place so users can easily set them up.

SKT will also continue the safety campaign during the Lunar New Year holiday for customers attending an SK Knights basketball tournament. On Feb. 15, it will set up a separate "T Safety Defense Zone" booth in front of Jamsil Arena, where the SK Knights basketball tournament will be held, to provide guidance on safety services.

Hye-yeon Lee (이혜연), head of SKT's Customer Value Innovation Office, said the company plans to support customers so they can have a safe telecommunications experience during the Lunar New Year holiday. She added SKT will continue activities to protect customers from digital threats they may face in everyday life and transform into an SKT trusted by customers.
