OpenAI has proposed regulating artificial intelligence at a level comparable to nuclear power and urged the United States to lead the creation of a global AI governance body. OpenAI also outlined an international network linking U.S. and national AI safety agencies and called for mandatory testing before deploying the strongest AI models.

Expanding AI data centres are pushing memory makers to prioritise production of high-bandwidth memory, cutting supplies of general-purpose DRAM and NAND flash used in smartphones and PCs. TechRadar said the pressure could affect device prices, specifications and the broader mobile ecosystem through 2027. Analysts say smartphone component costs could rise by 15 percent or more, forcing some mid-range and budget models to reduce memory or overall specifications.
