Woori Financial to support eco-friendly boiler replacements for 100 vulnerable households in Dongjak-gu

Woori Financial Group\'s Woori Financial Future Foundation will provide 30 million won to help replace old boilers for 100 vulnerable households in Dongjak-gu, Seoul. Dongjak-gu Office and the Seoul Social Welfare Council will take part in the project. The initiative aims to ease heating cost burdens and improve living conditions by installing energy-efficient, eco-friendly boilers. The foundation said it held a donation ceremony on Oct. 23.

PHP foundation has 1 full-time employee amid severe staff shortage

A nonprofit foundation that supports the open-source programming language PHP is run by a single full-time employee, Reuters reported on Oct. 24. The report followed the discovery this week of two serious security vulnerabilities that put websites in multiple countries on alert, with some European government sites blocked on Oct. 21 to apply patches. PHP is estimated to be used on up to 70 percent of websites worldwide.

Robotaxis to begin test runs in Kazakhstan in 2027 under inDrive, Pony.ai, Nvidia tie-up

Ride-hailing platform inDrive will work with Chinese autonomous driving firm Pony.ai and Nvidia to start robotaxi test runs in Kazakhstan in the first half of 2027, beginning in the capital Astana. The companies plan to link Pony.ai robotaxis to inDrive’s app, with Nvidia providing AI technology including its Hyperion platform and Halos safety system. Tests will start with safety operators onboard, with a long-term goal of fully driverless operation.
