Woori Financial Group's Woori Financial Future Foundation will provide 30 million won to help replace aging boilers for 100 vulnerable households in Dongjak-gu, Seoul. Dongjak-gu Office and the Seoul Social Welfare Council will take part in the project. The initiative aims to ease heating cost burdens and improve living conditions by expanding the use of energy-efficient, eco-friendly boilers.

The Woori Financial Future Foundation said on Oct. 25 it held a donation ceremony on Oct. 23 with Dongjak-gu Office and the Seoul Social Welfare Council to support eco-friendly boiler replacements.

The project will be carried out in cooperation with Dongjak-gu, which is continuing related support with its own budget even after the end of government central funding for eco-friendly boiler replacements.

Under the support structure, Dongjak-gu Office will cover part of the boiler installation cost, and the Woori Financial Future Foundation will use the 30 million won donation to support the portion paid by the beneficiary households. The Seoul Social Welfare Council will also participate to support improvements in living conditions.

The eco-friendly boilers to be installed have higher energy efficiency than existing conventional boilers, which helps reduce heating costs. They also emit relatively lower levels of air pollutants and are expected to contribute to improved heating conditions for vulnerable groups and environmental protection.

The Woori Financial Future Foundation plans to carry out a winter support programme for vulnerable households in the Seoul area in November.
