Dogecoin long-term holders have recently entered a loss zone, bringing renewed focus to the possibility of a short-term rebound.

On Oct. 21, blockchain media outlet U.Today reported that on-chain analytics firm Santiment said Dogecoin’s 365-day MVRV (market value to realized value) fell to around 0.74.

Santiment said Dogecoin’s moves stand out among top cryptocurrencies and noted that with the 365-day MVRV near 0.74, recent holders are in a deep loss zone. A high MVRV can increase the risk of profit-taking, while a low reading may indicate selling pressure is closer to exhaustion.

The indicator came as Dogecoin shows signs of reviving alongside a broader cryptocurrency market rebound. Investors are awaiting new economic data ahead of the U.S. Federal Reserve’s interest rate decision next week.

The market is watching whether Dogecoin can form short-term support. A move to $0.10 is discussed if Dogecoin keeps its recovery going, but buying must first break resistance at $0.087 and $0.088, where the 200-day and 50-day daily moving averages sit.

Comparable indicators were also presented. XRP’s 365-day MVRV is around 0.92, also in net-loss territory, which was seen as creating a more favourable and lower-risk opportunity zone by historical standards. Bitcoin, Ethereum and Chainlink (LINK) cluster in a 0.97 to 1.04 range, placing average holders in a neutral zone near break-even.

There was also movement to expand the Dogecoin ecosystem. Teams that have developed Dogecoin wallet and application networks and merchant payment tools launched Dogecoin Labs in cooperation with the Dogecoin Foundation. Dogecoin Labs will own and operate MyDoge, DogeOS and the Such app. The company will focus on broadening Dogecoin use in consumer applications, payments, commerce, decentralised finance (DeFi) and games, while the foundation will continue to manage the ecosystem and open-source development.

Still, Dogecoin’s push into traditional finance has yet to translate into sustained investor interest. Bitwise plans to shut its Dogecoin spot exchange-traded fund (ETF), making it necessary to watch how much the base for fund inflows holds up regardless of expectations for a price rebound.

XRP And DOGE Flashing Strong MVRV Opportunity Signals $DOGE is standing out among top caps, with its 365-day MVRV near 0.74, meaning recent holders are deeply underwater on average. $XRP sits around 0.92, also placing traders in net losses and creating a historically more favorable, lower-risk opportunity zone than when holders are sitting on large profits. ⚖️ $BTC, $ETH and $LINK look much more neutral. Their 365-day MVRVs cluster around 0.97 to 1.04, suggesting average traders are near breakeven with little evidence of either extreme profit-taking risk or unusually deep capitulation. MVRV helps show whether recent buyers are sitting on excessive profits or painful losses. High MVRV can warn that profit-taking risk is building, while low MVRV can identify areas where selling pressure may be closer to exhaustion. Traders can use those extremes to judge risk and crowd positioning rather than relying on price alone. Our Live MVRV Comparison Chart: https://t.co/XNOJTzhB9K
