Fortytwo Maru said on Thursday it will take part in Busan Metropolitan City’s project to expand and build “Busan-style AI services.”
The project is a second-phase effort to upgrade the functions of the administrative AI platform “AI Boogi Officer” that the city introduced last year. AI Boogi Officer supports drafting administrative documents, searching ordinances and budgets, and interactive Q&A. It is based on a small language model trained on about 160,000 city policy datasets and administrative documents and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) technology.
In the second phase, the project will build an operating framework for multiple language models by task and a department- and individual-tailored RAG environment. It also plans to add AI-based material compilation and collaborative document editing functions.
Fortytwo Maru will form a consortium with lead company Clyon and Ugiyafactory and take charge of developing core AI models. It will be responsible for supplying a Busan-tailored sLLM, advanced training on administrative data and optimizing multi-model operations. It will also pursue a pilot application of a pan-government common foundation for large-scale AI.
Fortytwo Maru CEO Kim Dong-hwan (김동환) said, “Based on the successful proof-of-concept experience from the first phase, it is very meaningful to continue working closely with Busan through the second expansion project.” He added, “We will further solidify cooperation with Busan so that Busan-style AI administrative services can establish themselves as a standard model for public-sector AX.”
