KRX to launch after-hours market, trading until 8 p.m. from Sept. 14

The Korea Exchange (KRX) will operate an after-hours market from Sept. 14, allowing real-time stock trading until 8 p.m. after the regular session ends. The exchange said it revised rules for its KOSPI and KOSDAQ markets and that 38 brokerages, representing 95.2 percent market share, plan to participate. Existing after-hours single-price trading will be abolished and replaced by continuous matching from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

NIA carries out restructuring to support push to become top 3 AI power

South Korea\'s National Information Society Agency (NIA) said on Sept. 7 it carried out an organisational restructuring to strengthen execution of national AI policy and respond to three mega-projects. It upgraded its AI Government Infrastructure Support Unit to a headquarters unit and created an AI Government Projects Team. NIA also consolidated AX support functions and launched an Agentic AI Innovation Team. It added physical AI data functions to a data team and may expand support systems later.

Zeiss appoints Janne Jehuzens as new Korea country head

Optical solutions company Zeiss said on Wednesday it has appointed Dr Janne Jehuzens as head of its South Korea unit. Jehuzens joined Zeiss in 2012 and has held roles including special operations projects lead, manufacturing project manager and head of industrial excellence. Since 2021, Jehuzens has led supply chain management for Zeiss’ semiconductor division, overseeing strategic sourcing, supplier development, supply quality and export controls.
