TTA to work with ITU to boost Asia-Pacific ICT standards capabilities, support firms\' overseas expansion
Korea\'s Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA) said it will work with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to spread ICT standards and strengthen capabilities in the Asia-Pacific region. TTA said it adopted a joint declaration with the ITU at an ITU regional development forum in Bangkok. The declaration focuses on standardisation and human capacity building, including expanded expert participation, stronger exchanges, and sharing experience and best practices to promote use of ITU standards.

Pattaya condo bought for 2,900 bitcoin sells for 7 bitcoin, highlighting opportunity cost
Chun Wang, founder of bitcoin mining firm F2Pool, said he sold a condo in Pattaya, Thailand, in 2026 for 7 bitcoin after buying it in 2015 for 2,900 bitcoin. He said bitcoin was about $224 then, valuing the purchase at about $650,000. At an assumed $67,500 per bitcoin, 7 bitcoin equals about $470,000. The difference is 2,893 bitcoin.

Thailand steps up plans to introduce crypto ETFs and futures, framework due early this year
Thailand is accelerating work to update regulation related to cryptocurrencies. The Securities and Exchange Commission plans to introduce early this year a regulatory framework covering crypto-related products and activities, The Block reported, citing the Bangkok Post. Key changes include bringing crypto exchange-traded funds and crypto futures into the regulated system. The SEC has already given in-principle approval for ETFs and is preparing detailed rules.
