Korea's Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA) will join hands with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to spread ICT standards and strengthen capabilities in the Asia-Pacific region.

TTA said on July 20 it adopted a joint declaration with the ITU at the ITU Asia-Pacific Regional Development Forum (RDF-ASP) held in Bangkok, Thailand on July 16 (local time).

The joint declaration was 추진됐다 under the recognition that ICT standardisation and human capacity building are key to inclusive digital development. The two organisations agreed to expand expert participation and strengthen exchanges to build capabilities in emerging and advanced technology fields. They also set sharing experience and best practices to promote wider use of ITU standards as a key cooperation task.

The cooperation was based on the results of information security standards technology training that TTA conducted in February for 15 countries in the Asia-Pacific and CIS regions. At the time, South Korean companies including NamuSoft and ESTOM showcased Korean-style international standard solutions such as "passwordless].

Cosmas Zavazava (코스마스 자바자바), director of the ITU Telecommunication Development Bureau, said, "TTA is an important partner that has led ICT standardisation in the Asia-Pacific region." He added, "This joint declaration will serve as a momentum to actively support the spread of global digital standards and balanced development between regions."

TTA Chairman Seung-hyun Son (손승현) said, "This cooperation is an outcome in which the excellence of K-standards has led to solidarity with the ITU." He added, "Based on the standardisation experience and expertise accumulated so far, we will help our companies' technologies spread in the global market."
