Finance network separation rules eased, fueling 140 trillion won fintech investment
South Korea\'s financial authorities expanded the scope of eased network separation rules for AI use to secondary financial institutions and electronic financial business operators. The number of firms to be selected rises to as many as 15, and eligibility thresholds are lowered. Selected institutions can use external AI and security SaaS after putting alternative controls in place. Industry expectations are mixed, with some firms cautious. Kbank, BC Card launch \'Hidden Card\' with 6 percent discounts on Naver, Kakao and Coupang Pay
Kbank will launch the \"Kbank Hidden Card\" with BC Card, a private label credit card offering stronger benefits for online easy payments and overseas spending. The card provides 6 percent discounts for online payments via Naver Pay, Kakao Pay and Coupang Pay, and 2 percent discounts for overseas payments. Online discounts vary by prior-month spending. Kbank will also run linked financial-service promotions through Dec. 31, including interest-rate preference coupons and additional rewards, and dining discounts through Oct. 31.
