[Digital Today reporter Ji-young Lee] Kbank will launch the "Kbank Hidden Card" with BC Card, a private label credit card that strengthens benefits for online easy payments and overseas payments.
Kbank said on Tuesday it will launch the "Hidden Card" with BC Card, offering 6 percent discounts for online payments via Naver Pay, Kakao Pay and Coupang Pay, and 2 percent discounts for overseas payments.
The online easy-payment discount is applied on a tiered basis depending on the prior month's spending. Customers with at least 400,000 won in monthly spending can receive up to 10,000 won off per month, those with at least 1,000,000 won up to 30,000 won, and those with at least 1,500,000 won up to 40,000 won.
A 2 percent discount applies to overseas online and offline payments without prior-month spending conditions or discount limits. Discounted payment amounts are also included in the prior-month spending total.
To mark the card launch, Kbank will also run a financial service-linked promotion through Dec. 31.
All customers who receive the card will be given a coupon for an additional 2 percentage points in interest rate preference for Plus Box. If prior-month spending is at least 500,000 won, a coupon for an additional 1 percentage point will be issued each month, and if it is at least 1,000,000 won, a coupon for an additional 2 percentage points will be issued each month. The coupon applies for one month to the Plus Box balance bracket of more than 5,000,000 won to 15,000,000 won.
Kbank will also provide, with no limit on the number of times, an "account deposit and withdrawal reward card" that offers random cash benefits each time a payment is made with the Hidden Card, regardless of the payment amount.
Through Oct. 31, it will also offer dining discounts. If a customer makes a single payment of at least 10,000 won at a restaurant, with no prior-month spending conditions, the customer can receive a 500 won discount per transaction, up to 10 times per month.
A Kbank official said, "The Hidden Card is a product that strengthens online and overseas payment benefits and improves convenience by including discounted payment amounts in the prior-month spending total."
