The biggest difference between Android Auto and Android Automotive is whether they depend on a smartphone, Engadget reported on Aug. 23. Android Auto is driven by an Android phone and mirrors an in-car interface on the vehicle display, supporting navigation, music, messages and compatible apps. Android Automotive OS runs directly on the vehicle’s hardware as the car’s operating system, so users can use the vehicle system without connecting a phone.

Ford will begin mass-producing its midsize electric pickup Fadom in early 2027 and sell it from $28,350. The model will be the first vehicle on Ford\'s new Universal EV platform and is slated for production in the first quarter at the Louisville Assembly Plant. Ford plans to revamp production by building the vehicle in three zones and using large aluminum castings, cutting parts sharply and raising assembly speed by 40 percent.
