Cisco unveils universal quantum switch prototype aimed at quantum networking
Cisco has unveiled a working research prototype of its Cisco Universal Quantum Switch, designed to connect quantum computers from different vendors without damaging quantum states. The device aims to link multiple quantum systems as if they were a single integrated system to improve scalability. Cisco said today’s quantum computers remain at hundreds to thousands of qubits, and far larger scale is needed for practical use.

Chinese researchers develop 1,000 times faster process for wafer-scale 2D semiconductors
Chinese researchers have developed a process to grow wafer-scale two-dimensional semiconductors at about 1,000 times the previous speed, a report said. The team redesigned a chemical vapor deposition process and replaced a solid substrate with a liquid gold and tungsten bilayer to ease physical limits on growth speed. They produced a monolayer tungsten silicon nitride film and said the work suggests scalable manufacturing potential, though mass production, defects and cost remain obstacles.

Cosmos ecosystem Leap Wallet to end service in May
Leap Wallet, a non-custodial wallet in the Cosmos ecosystem, will end operations of its software suite on May 28, The Block reported. The shutdown covers its browser extension, iOS and Android apps, Leap web app, Swapfast exchange platform and the Leap Cosmos Hub validator. Users who delegated ATOM to the validator must redelegate to keep staking rewards. Users can still access assets via recovery phrases or private keys in other wallets.
