AI and cloud company MegazoneCloud said on Tuesday it will cooperate with global neutral-atom quantum computing company Pasqal to help expand the adoption of quantum computing in South Korea.

The companies agreed to cooperate on integrating Pasqal's quantum processing unit (QPU) with MegazoneCloud's quantum service WAVE, jointly identifying industry-specific quantum computing use cases, and building on-premises quantum computers for domestic customers.

WAVE is MegazoneCloud's integrated quantum service brand. It connects the full process of adopting quantum technology, from education and consulting to quantum cloud, on-premises emulators and industrial applications, to help companies apply quantum computing to real work.

The companies plan to integrate Pasqal's full-stack neutral-atom QPU technology, which provides both the QPU and the software that operates and controls it, and a quantum software development kit (QSDK) into the quantum cloud execution environment of MegazoneCloud's WAVE. Through this, MegazoneCloud plans to help domestic companies access quantum workloads.

They will also work in parallel to identify industry use cases. They will first pursue corporate seminars, technical workshops and joint solution demonstrations in 4 industries: finance, logistics, bio and manufacturing. They plan to identify together quantum computing use cases that can be applied to real work.

MegazoneCloud CQO Dong-ho Kim (김동호) said, "For domestic companies to apply quantum computing to real work, they need reliable infrastructure and proven use cases."
