Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson (찰스 호스킨슨) again called on cryptocurrency exchange Gemini to list ADA.
U.Today, a blockchain media outlet, reported on Oct. 6 that Hoskinson left a brief comment, "List ADA", on an X post by Gemini co-founder Tyler Winklevoss (타일러 윙클보스) marking the exchange's 11th anniversary.
The remark again highlighted that although Gemini has expanded the assets it supports over the years, it still does not list ADA, Cardano's native token. Gemini currently supports major proof-of-stake cryptocurrencies such as Solana, Avalanche (AVAX), Polkadot (DOT), Cosmos (ATOM) and Tezos (XTZ). ADA is not included on the list.
Market attention is focused on why Gemini is shunning ADA. In its official listing policy, Gemini presents evaluation criteria including maturity, liquidity, market demand, utility, regulatory review, cybersecurity risk and concentration of control. It has not issued a separate public position on ADA.
In December 2022, when Gemini was shaken by the Genesis cryptocurrency lending firm episode, Hoskinson mocked exchanges that had not listed ADA by linking them to bankruptcies and reckless behaviour.
He also continued remarks aimed at Gemini in a social media conversation that month. "ADA is still not on Gemini," Hoskinson said, adding, "FTX didn't list us either, so it's actually a good thing." In September last year, he again signalled his demand by posting a photo holding a sign reading "Wen ADA?" next to a Gemini booth.
The level of criticism rose further in 2025. In an interview, Hoskinson said Gemini was the last cryptocurrency exchange that does not trade ADA. He also claimed Gemini likely missed about $70 million in revenue opportunities over 5 years because of the decision. Binance and Coinbase, rival exchanges, could earn revenue from ADA trading, he said.
The latest "List ADA" remark is seen as an extension of long-running pressure on Gemini. A key point to watch is whether Gemini will keep its listing criteria or disclose its position on ADA for the first time.
