K battery makers see end of chasm tunnel, profitability within reach in Q2

South Korea ministries sign pact to support stable power supply for AI data centres

South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT and the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment signed a memorandum of understanding on Tuesday to secure a stable power supply for artificial intelligence data centres, the ministries said. The agreement follows parliamentary approval of a special law aimed at promoting the AIDC industry. The two ministers agreed to supply power through the national power grid and to form a joint task force if demand emerges for gigawatt-scale AIDC projects.

Korea Artificial Intelligence Association marks 10th anniversary, aims to lead real-world AI expansion

The Korea Artificial Intelligence Association marked its 10th anniversary and set a goal of shifting into a private-sector leadership platform that presents technology direction in the AI era and the global order. At an event held on May 7 at AI Expo Korea, it shared a plan to lead expansion beyond large language models and generative AI into agent AI, world models and physical AI. It also outlined four governance initiatives to realize the vision.
