LG said on Thursday it will hold "LG Spark 2026" at LG Sciencepark in Magok, Seoul, from Sept. 7 to 17.

LG Spark is an event that integrated, in 2023, gatherings where affiliates shared technological innovation achievements. This year it will feature five programs focused on expanding examples of AI innovation and transformation (AX): LG Tech Fair, LG AX Fair, LG AI Talk Concert, LG AI DevCon and Culture Week.

At the LG Tech Fair on Sept. 7 and 8, LG will exhibit 41 new affiliate R&D technologies. It will unveil 13 new technologies in three "One LG" areas - Physical AI, AIDC and mobility - and 28 future business technologies related to AI, bio and cleantech (ABC).

In the Physical AI area, it will present technology that links the home robot Cloi with AI home appliances to autonomously perform cleaning, air management and delivery of items. In the AIDC area, it will unveil hybrid bonding equipment for semiconductors and high-heat-dissipation adhesive film. In the mobility area, it will unveil transparency control film for automobiles and hairpin motors.

At the LG AX Fair on Sept. 10 and 11, it will present 68 AX cases applied to affiliates' work areas, including development, sales and marketing, production and quality, and strategy and planning.

Items set to be introduced include an AI for verifying marketing content compliance at LG Electronics, a vision AI for recognizing safety and environment risks at LG Innotek, an AI agent supporting planning and verification of R&D tasks at LG Chem, and a technology for optimizing token costs for AI models at LG Uplus.

At the LG AI Talk Concert on Sept. 14 and 15, LG AI Research will share industry-by-industry application cases and future development plans for its in-house AI model, Exaone.

LG AI DevCon will be held on Sept. 15 and 16, with developers from LG affiliates and global companies taking part. Nvidia, Google, Amazon and Microsoft will participate to introduce the latest AI technologies and development cases.

"LG Prompton Challenge 2026," in which participants develop real services using Exaone and prompts, will also be held. Ten teams that advance to the finals will develop Exaone-based services that can be used in LG products and services and in work processes. LG plans to consider applying outstanding outputs to actual services.

During Culture Week from Sept. 15 to 17, LG will offer mentoring by its researchers and tours of research spaces for 50 university students seeking careers in AI. It will also run hands-on programs including an Exaone drawing challenge, an AI short film festival and an AI photo booth.

Soo-heon Jeong (정수헌), head of LG Sciencepark, said, "We will strive to ensure innovative products and services can be created through LG Spark, where AI technology and culture come together."
