KT Cloud unveiled a blueprint to become an "AX infrastructure partner" supporting customers throughout the AX execution process, based on technology and operational capabilities built through cloud and AI data centres (AIDC).

KT Cloud held "KT Cloud Summit 2026" on Sept. 15 at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas in Seoul's Gangnam district. It unveiled its cloud strategy and an AIDC supply roadmap aimed at supporting customer AX execution and generating business results.

In the AIDC segment, KT Cloud presented a roadmap to supply more than 1 GW of infrastructure across about 20 sites by 2031. In cloud, it said it would integrate multi and hybrid cloud operating environments around its in-house "KT Cloud Platform" and later expand to composite AI, linking data and computing resources with AI models and applications.

In a welcome address, CEO Bong-gyun Kim (김봉균) stressed that under KT's vision of becoming an "AX platform company", KT Cloud would take charge of core infrastructure for AX implementation, including cloud and AIDC, and support customer AX execution.

It also highlighted a plan to expand technology and operational experience proven in the public sector to the private sector and develop it into a platform supporting disaster recovery and the use of AI.

In AIDC, it presented a direction to stably support large-scale AI workloads based on more than 25 years of accumulated data centre build-out and operational experience. KT Cloud plans to enhance AIDC competitiveness by combining its in-house power, cooling and operations automation technologies with KT's network and the technologies of specialist partner companies.

To respond actively to customer demand, it plans to expand AIDC supply capacity to 1 GW and flexibly propose scale and location tailored to each customer’s requirements. Based on this, it aims to actively attract global AIDC demand, including from big tech and neo-cloud firms.

Cloud division head Yong-jun Kong (공용준) said the company will expand to "composite AI" by moving through composite cloud, which selects and combines resources to meet customer needs such as security, performance, cost and data in multi and hybrid cloud environments. He said composite AI will connect data, computing resources such as GPUs and NPUs, AI models, applications and agents into a single execution framework.

DC division head Ok-jin Choi (최옥진) unveiled a roadmap to expand regional clusters focused on customised AIDC for customers in the Seoul metropolitan area and global-linked AIDC outside the capital region, supplying more than 1 GW of infrastructure across about 20 sites by 2031. The company plans to apply next-generation technologies such as liquid cooling, ultra-high-density power and AI-based intelligent operations, and use digital twins, robots and open standards such as OCP (Open Compute Project) to improve stability and operational efficiency.

Myung-joon Jeon (전명준), head of KT's enterprise service division, presented a network strategy that uses an ultra-low-latency backbone network to connect regionally dispersed AIDCs as if they were a single infrastructure.
