KT Cloud said on Wednesday it will expand cooperation with LS Electric on AI data centre (AIDC) business. It said the partners will broaden collaboration on modular data centre technology and work to build a supply system for key power equipment.

The company said the agreement was 추진됐다 to strengthen capabilities to build modular data centres optimised for next-generation AI infrastructure and to establish a stable supply system for major power facilities, as power demand and the scale of AI data centre construction increase rapidly.

The two companies will strengthen technical cooperation to build modular data centres optimised for next-generation AI infrastructure. A modular data centre (MDC, Modular Data Center) is a method of building a data centre that pre-manufactures key facilities, such as power and cooling, in modules so it can be built and expanded quickly on site.

KT Cloud plans to continue strengthening its technological competitiveness by expanding cooperation with specialised companies in key areas such as power and cooling for AI data centres, including this partnership. It also plans to standardise modular data centre design and improve construction efficiency, while pursuing an expansion of infrastructure with a capacity of 1 GW spanning the Seoul metropolitan area and other regions in line with customer demand.

He said cooperation with LS Electric will enhance modular data centre construction capabilities and power infrastructure competitiveness, and strengthen the foundation for building and operating large-scale AI data centres.
