Ncorea says Playdata students win top prize at 2026 KDT hackathon

Ncorea said a team including trainees from Playdata, an IT education institute it operates, won the top prize at the 2026 K-Digital Training hackathon. The team developed an AI vision assistance service to help people with night blindness and low vision walk safely at night, using on-device AI to identify surroundings and hazards on a smartphone. Ncorea also said it runs the Ncorea AI Campus and plans to open new camps in October.

Liner launches \'Model API\' AI orchestration, cuts LLM costs by 50 percent

AI agent startup Liner unveiled an AI orchestration solution that automatically assigns suitable large language models (LLMs) based on user queries to reduce costs. The company said it launched the \'Liner Model API\' on Tuesday, designed to keep answer quality at high-performance levels while cutting LLM token costs by more than 50 percent. It analyses query difficulty and type, applying top models to complex tasks and cheaper models to general queries.

KT to pursue full-stack strategy for \'AI for All\' using domestic AI technology

KT said on Saturday it will pursue a full-stack AI strategy for the government-led \'AI for All\' project, spanning domestic AI chips, models and platforms, and cloud and network infrastructure. As lead company, it plans to form a consortium to connect AI infrastructure and model and platform capabilities held by domestic firms for large-scale public services. Participants include Rebellions, Rablup, VESSL AI Korea, Upstage, Motif Technologies, NC AI, Saltlux and ActionPower.
