Miso Information Technology, a multimodal data platform and AI specialist, said on Wednesday it was selected as the lead company for the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's project to develop industrial AI agent technology to solve problems at worksites.

The project has a total budget of 7.5 billion won. It focuses on developing industry-specific AI agent technology that can solve real problems on manufacturing floors and applying it at production sites, with the Korea Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute, Ecopro BM, DL Information Technology and ImpactiveAI.

Miso Information Technology plans to develop customised industrial AI agents for manufacturing sites based on its next-generation intelligent manufacturing platform DAXI, AI orchestration and an agent AI full-stack platform. It aims to respond quickly to changing conditions on the factory floor.

It plans to conduct demonstrations at Ecopro BM's actual manufacturing sites to verify on-site applicability and business viability. It also plans to present a standard model for industrial AI agents that can later expand beyond secondary batteries to diverse manufacturing fields such as semiconductors, electronic parts and materials industries.

Nam Sang-do (남상도), chief executive of Miso Information Technology, said, "AI is a core technology that goes beyond simple automation and converts manufacturing knowledge and experience into digital assets." He added, "Through industrial AI agents that combine skilled workers' experience with manufacturing data, we will build an autonomous manufacturing environment in which sites make their own judgments and solve problems."
