Single-stock leverage ETF margin tripled to raise trading barrier after wild swings

The South Korean government will triple the basic margin requirement for single-stock leveraged ETFs tied to Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix and raise the minimum trading unit to curb excessive leverage trading. The margin will rise to 30 million won from 10 million won, effective Aug. 5. Officials said the measures aim to reduce frequent short-term trades and shift the market toward investors able to bear product risks, while monitoring impacts after implementation.

KT to bring AI to home shopping industry, builds cooperation framework with 12 companies

KT is building an AI and big data-based cooperation framework with South Korean home shopping companies to help revitalise the industry. The company held an insight forum in Seoul on July 16 to discuss sustainable cooperation in line with government home shopping industry policies. Representatives from 12 home shopping firms and related associations attended. KT also presented results and a roadmap for its GSI analysis platform and signed a cooperation agreement with the 12 companies.

AX success depends on defining tasks; KPIs should focus on revenue and ROI, not adoption

Corporate AI transformation success depends on defining the problems to solve rather than simply adopting AI, UnboundLabDev CEO Cho Yong-min said at Salesforce Korea's Agentforce Digital Summit 2026 in Seoul. He said companies should translate goals into performance indicators such as revenue and return on investment and design tasks to improve top business outcomes. Panelists cited cases where generic AI tools saw low usage and projects stalled at proof-of-concept without clear strategy.
