U.S. SEC cracks down on AI pre-IPO stock investment frenzy, demands proof of actual stakes
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is moving to verify the substance of pre-IPO stock investment products sold by investment firms, as demand rises for exposure to popular AI startups such as OpenAI and Anthropic. The SEC has told registered investment advisers to prove their special purpose vehicles actually hold the promoted stakes or exposure. The agency has previously pursued similar cases and has warned that tokenisation does not itself guarantee ownership.

Kakao Games said on Sept. 1 it will hold an online showcase for 'World of Dokkaebi', an MMORPG being developed by Supercat, at 8 p.m. on Sept. 8. The event will stream on the game’s official YouTube channel and show in-game footage featuring regions, skills and combat. Kakao Games will introduce major systems, post-launch operations and service plans, including the official release schedule.

Binance will delist 12 margin trading pairs on Sept. 3 local time, including pairs linked to Sui, Avalanche and Chainlink. It will stop borrowing for the affected isolated margin pairs from Sept. 1. On Sept. 3, it plans to close user positions, carry out automatic settlement and cancel all open orders before removing the pairs from its margin service. Binance also plans a separate spot delisting of all spot pairs for ICON, Secret and Storj from Sept. 3.
