Naver Cloud said on Oct. 19 it has opened a "security self-assessment" site that allows businesses to check their own security status and identify directions for improvement.

The security self-assessment service helps companies review their security level and identify areas needing improvement by responding to an online survey. It consists of 7 areas and 21 questions, including network security, access control, and data protection and encryption.

It also set up a separate category for security items related to AI-use environments. It checks response systems for automated attacks using AI, policies to prevent leakage of sensitive information that could occur as employees use AI services, and management of access permissions for in-house AI systems.

After completing the assessment, it provides guidance on key security regulations applied to the relevant industry and directions for improvements by area. If needed, it also provides information on related security services and expert consultations.

Anyone can use the service for free on the Naver Cloud Platform website without entering a company name or contact-person information.

Kim Jae-dong (김재동), Naver Cloud's chief information security officer, said: "The importance of security is growing, but many companies feel at a loss about where to start checking." He added: "We will continue to introduce practical security services so that companies can prepare for new security threats in the AI era."
