AI communications platform company Sendbird said on Oct. 19 it signed a memorandum of understanding with Upstage to apply a domestic large language model to corporate workplaces and expand commercialization of AI agents.

The companies will link Sendbird’s enterprise AI agent platform with Upstage’s LLM, Solar, and apply it to real business tasks. They will refine each company’s products based on verification results. They also plan to identify joint business opportunities in sovereign AI based on demand from companies considering adopting a domestic LLM.

The companies will first develop scenarios to apply Solar centered on tasks for Sendbird’s corporate customers and verify them in stages. In actual service environments, they will evaluate key indicators such as response speed, task accuracy and customer satisfaction. They agreed to reflect improvement items identified during the process.

Sendbird will provide experience in AI agent design, system integration, testing and operations, while Upstage will support model optimization in corporate environments based on Solar model technology.

Lee Sang-hee (이상희), head of Sendbird Korea, said, “To expand domestic AI competitiveness into global markets, experience verifying and improving it in real work environments of global companies is important.” He said, “By combining Upstage’s model technology and Sendbird’s AI agent operations capabilities, we will build cases where domestic LLMs lead to tangible outcomes for customers.”
