Meta to tap space solar power to secure round-the-clock electricity for data centres
Meta will invest in space-based solar power transmission technology to secure night-time electricity for its data centres. It signed a power capacity reservation agreement of up to 1 gigawatt with startup Overview Energy, its first major demand contract. Meta data centres used more than 18,000 gigawatt hours of electricity in 2024. Overview Energy plans to collect solar energy via satellites and send it as near-infrared beams to ground solar plants.

Softfreak wins NIS security function verification for system access control solution
API governance firm Softfreak said on April 28 its system access control solution, i-SeMOS, obtained a security function verification certificate issued by South Korea\'s National Intelligence Service. The company said i-SeMOS integrates account management and password management with system access control functions. Softfreak previously won a GS (Good Software) Grade 1 certification and completed registration on the Public Procurement Service\'s digital service mall. It plans to expand sales in the public sector.

Genians tops public EDR procurement for 7th straight year, steps up AI hacking response
Genians said on Monday it ranked No. 1 in South Korea’s public EDR procurement market for a seventh straight year. The company said it held a 46 percent share in 2025 based on the Public Procurement Service’s Nara Market. Its EDR solution is deployed on more than 750,000 devices across central government agencies, local governments, the financial sector and large manufacturers. It said EDR’s role is growing as AI-enabled attacks become more sophisticated.
