Fed raises policy rate by 25 bps; what does it mean for bitcoin?
The U.S. Federal Reserve raised its benchmark interest rate by 0.25 percentage point, the first hike since 2023, lifting the target range for the federal funds rate to 3.75 to 4.00 percent. The move largely matched expectations and won unanimous support from all 12 FOMC members. Crypto markets fell about 2.18 percent on the day. Bitcoin briefly rose near $75,900 before slipping back toward $75,100, while holding a closely watched support zone.

MOIS to provide online household move-in data to Toss Bank, first for internet-only banks
South Korea\'s Ministry of the Interior and Safety will provide Toss Bank with online access to household move-in data from Sept. 17, the first such link-up for an internet-only bank. The data will allow the bank to check required information in real time during reviews for rental deposit loans without customers submitting separate documents. The ministry expects the online link to cut review times from 5 days to 4 days or more and help prevent real estate loan fraud.

KakaoBank is launching a balance-payment mortgage loan for buyers moving into newly built apartments, expanding its non-face-to-face mortgage business into the group loan market. Customers can handle the entire process on mobile, from checking limits and rates to disbursement. Eligible borrowers are general-sale contract holders at designated complexes. Loan limits are up to 1 billion won under regulations, with maturities up to 40 years and no early repayment fees.
