Park In-kyu discusses 2027 R&D investment direction with industry
Park In-kyu (박인규), head of the Ministry of Science and ICT’s Science and Technology Innovation Office, chaired a private-sector R&D consultative council steering committee meeting in Seoul on Wednesday. He heard industry views on the government’s proposed 2027 R&D budget and future investment directions. The council includes executives from about 200 leading companies across major industries and is organised into 11 subcommittees covering six fields including carbon neutrality, future mobility and digital transformation.

KT joins government project to build physical AI dark factory
KT will take part as a joint research institution in a Ministry of Science and ICT project to develop solutions for designing and building AI-based dark factories. The task aims to build a 24-hour unmanned and automated factory near Jeonbuk Innovation City by applying AI across all processes. KT will develop synthetic data generation and verification systems and an integrated environment to run AI agents, and later conduct demonstrations at participating firms’ manufacturing sites.

OnePredict passes technology evaluation, to seek Kosdaq preliminary listing review this year
Manufacturing AI company OnePredict said on Sept. 14 it passed a technology evaluation required for a Kosdaq listing under the exchange’s technology special listing track. The company said it will push to file an application for a preliminary listing review within the year. Founded in 2016, OnePredict said it has grown on predictive maintenance technology that analyzes industrial equipment data with AI to diagnose conditions and forecast anomalies and failures.
