A technology-combination model between companies from different sectors has emerged in the defence AI data centre market. Long-term memory AI and semiconductor integrated solutions company Dinotisia said on Tuesday it will pursue strategic investment and business cooperation with STX Engine in a defence industry-focused artificial intelligence data centre (AIDC) business. Under the arrangement, STX Engine will join as an investor and supply power infrastructure equipment such as generators, while the two companies jointly develop and commercialise defence AI solutions.

Dinotisia will be responsible for planning and development of the defence-focused AIDC. It will provide VDPU, a vector data processing unit, and its AI data infrastructure solution, Seahorse. STX Engine will move forward with strategic investment and power infrastructure equipment supply based on its capabilities in defence and civilian engines and power generation facilities. The two companies will also jointly identify new business opportunities using their respective technologies and business networks.

A defence-focused AIDC is dedicated infrastructure that supports defence companies handling security-sensitive information, including design drawings, technical documents, test data and maintenance histories. It enables AI training, inference and data analysis while meeting requirements for network separation, access control and management of data exports. A key feature is that companies with demand and business experience in actual defence sites participate in AIDC investment and commercialisation discussions.

The two companies plan to finalise details through follow-up working-level consultations. They will confirm specifics including how STX Engine will participate as an investor, the scope of power infrastructure equipment supply, and cooperation tasks for AI technology and solution development and commercialisation.

STX Engine CEO Sang-soo Lee (이상수) said, "AI data centres are core infrastructure where stable power supply and operational reliability are important." He said the cooperation will help specify plans for strategic investment in the defence AIDC business and cooperation in the power infrastructure field, and identify opportunities to cooperate on commercialising defence AI technologies and solutions.

Dinotisia CEO Moo-kyung Jung (정무경) said, "STX Engine's engine technology can expand its business area into data centre power infrastructure, and Dinotisia's AI data and storage technology can expand into manufacturing AI infrastructure." He said, "It will be a cooperation in which companies from different fields, engines and AI, meet at data centres and expand their respective technologies and business areas."
