Trying to protect a new car screen can cause damage, CarPlay film should not be removed blindly

Some vehicles can see the transparent film soften and stick to the display under heat, potentially damaging the screen, an IT outlet reported. A mechanic’s TikTok video urged removal and warned repairs could cost thousands of dollars, but others noted films vary by vehicle and may be either temporary shipping covers or intended protective layers.
