Hana Bank to run \'heatwave shelters\' at branches nationwide
Hana Bank will open its branches nationwide as public rest areas to help people cope with summer heatwaves and heavy rain. The bank said on May 19 it will operate \'heatwave shelters\' that anyone can use during business hours from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Sept. 30. The shelters will be available to all residents regardless of whether they are Hana Bank customers, and free cold bottled water will be provided.

Coupang launches emergency relief system using Rocket Delivery network
Coupang will use its nationwide Rocket Delivery logistics network to support disaster victims through an emergency relief system. The company said on May 14 it is launching an “Emergency Relief Coupang Hope Box” programme to deliver relief items immediately to affected residents when disasters strike. Supplies will be stored at the Sejong fulfilment centre and shipped nationwide, then handed over onsite to Peace Winds Korea for distribution to evacuees.

Hancom Inspace, Yeoncheon County selected for 2026 Gyeonggi-do AI Challenge
Hancom Inspace, an AI data analysis company, said on Monday it was selected with Yeoncheon County for the 2026 Gyeonggi-do AI Challenge programme. The two proposed a plan to build a proactive response platform for ground subsidence based on satellite data and AI forecasting, using detailed analysis of cases such as subsidence and landslides caused by localised heavy rain. The company said the proposal was highly rated for improving on sensor-based disaster response and securing cost efficiency.
