Park In-hwan (박인환), head of the Postal Service, visited a special parcel-mailing operation site ahead of the Chuseok holiday to check logistics conditions and worker safety management.

Korea Post said on Sept. 16 that Park visited Busan Saha Post Office on Sept. 15, toured the delivery room and work sites, and encouraged staff on the ground.

"Above all, the most important thing is your safety and health," Park said. "Please do your best so that the public's valuable parcels, through which people share warm feelings for Chuseok, can be delivered safely and on time."

Korea Post will operate an emergency duty system for the Chuseok holiday special mailing period through Sept. 29. It expects about 14,330,000 parcels to be accepted nationwide during the period. The daily average is about 1,430,000 parcels, similar to last year's Chuseok level.

Korea Post also plans to strengthen measures to prevent safety accidents, depending on weather conditions such as typhoons, heat waves and heavy rain, to ensure a safe working environment for workers during the special mailing period.
