Johnson & Johnson\'s Ottava surgical robot wins U.S. FDA approval
Johnson & Johnson has secured U.S. marketing approval for its Ottava surgical robot system, marking its official entry into the robotic surgery market. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration granted approval through the De Novo pathway, allowing use of Ottava in 10 types of general surgery involving the upper abdomen, including gastrectomy and cholecystectomy.
