Apple Watch Ultra 4 will be released along with devices such as the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Ultra. On Aug. 5 (local time), IT outlet 9to5Mac picked a new chip tailored for Siri AI, strengthened health sensors and improved power efficiency as key changes in the next model.

Apple is expected to unveil five new products at its annual event in early September, including the iPhone 18 Pro and a "foldable iPhone". New wearable devices such as the Apple Watch and AirPods are also expected to be introduced alongside the new smartphones.

Among them, Apple Watch Ultra 4 is drawing attention. Ultra 4 is known to feature a refined design and new health-related sensors.

The most closely watched change is performance. Apple plans to strengthen Siri AI in new software, including watchOS 27, this autumn. That has raised the possibility that Apple Watch Ultra 4 will include a more powerful chip optimized for it.

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman said Apple Watch Ultra 4 and Series 12 will benefit from long-awaited improvements in chips and speed. With the current model using the S10 chip, the next product is likely to adopt the S11 chip.

Enhanced health features have also been signaled. DigiTimes reported last summer that the number of sensor components in Apple Watch Ultra 4 would double, and recently reiterated that detection functions would be significantly upgraded. Specific sensor changes have not been confirmed, but talk has emerged that related functions could be reinforced in conjunction with a new high blood pressure alert feature that Apple is undergoing review for by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Expectations are also rising for better battery performance as power efficiency improves. DigiTimes forecast that Apple Watch Ultra 4's power efficiency will improve significantly. Apple may adjust battery size to add new health sensors, however, and it is not yet certain how much actual usage time will increase.
