Toss Payments says not a system hack as 4,131 transactions viewed at one merchant

Toss Payments said a merchant card-information viewing incident did not stem from a hack of its systems. It said authentication credentials used for a payment integration platform were exposed on one merchant’s website, and a third party used them to collect additional information and view the merchant’s payment records. The firm said 4,131 transactions involving 2,671 people were affected and that it notified all impacted individuals.

Toss \'Quick Account Transfer\' tops 100 billion won in monthly transactions, users reach 12 million

Viva Republica, operator of Toss, said its simple account transfer service \"Quick Account Transfer\" has exceeded 100 billion won in monthly transaction value as of the end of August. Cumulative users also topped 12 million. The service allows payments directly from a bank account via open banking using a six-digit password, without installing a separate certificate. Toss said it streamlined sign-up and payment steps and improved payment success rates.

Toss introduces organizational culture to Ministry of Planning and Budget innovation leading group

Viva Republica, the operator of Toss, introduced its organizational culture and work practices to the Ministry of Planning and Budget’s organizational culture innovation leading group and youth interns. Toss said about 30 people, including members of the Vision X group, visited its Sinnonhyeon office on Sept. 2. The visitors heard explanations on culture and collaboration, held a question-and-answer session, and toured workspaces and meeting rooms.
