Upbit cheers \'Team Korea\' at Asian Games with support cards carrying bitcoin

Digital asset exchange Upbit has launched a campaign to support South Korea\'s national team, known as Team Korea, at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, which open on Sept. 19. Upbit operator Dunamu attended the national team send-off ceremony on Sept. 3 at the Jincheon national training center and encouraged athletes ahead of the Games. Upbit handed out support cards carrying six messages, each loaded with 10,000 won worth of bitcoin, and held a pizza day event with the team.

Woori Bank offers higher rates tied to Team Korea results, up to 7.5 percent savings plan

Woori Bank has introduced a savings plan that offers preferential interest rates depending on South Korea\'s national team results at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games and customers\' participation in cheering. The 12-month plan allows monthly deposits of up to 300,000 won and carries a base rate of 3.0 percent. With preferential conditions, borrowers can earn up to an additional 4.5 percentage points, for a maximum annual rate of 7.5 percent.

Korean blockchain firms post joint commercialisation and technology cooperation gains in Europe

South Korean blockchain companies signed joint commercialisation contracts and technology and export cooperation agreements at a European ICT exhibition and won an award at a global startup competition. The science ministry held a follow-up meeting in Seoul to review results from GITEX AI Europe in Berlin, where 23 Korean firms joined a Korea blockchain pavilion. Companies conducted 957 consultations, including 286 tied to exports and investment, and called for regulatory advice and follow-up matching support.
