Korean game makers seek breakthrough on consoles as mobile growth slows
South Korean game companies are increasingly turning to consoles as growth in mobile games slows. A Korea Creative Content Agency report showed console game exports rose 15.1 percent in 2024 to $213.76 million, the fastest growth among platforms, while PC game exports fell. Recent sales successes, including Pearl Abyss’ Crimson Desert, have reinforced the shift. Companies are expanding multi-platform lineups, though revenue structures and long development cycles pose challenges.

Sony tests user-specific dynamic pricing on PlayStation Store
Sony is testing a dynamic pricing policy on the PlayStation Store that presents different prices to different users, tracking site PSPrices said, as cited by TechRadar. The A/B test began in November 2025 with 30 regions and 50 games and has expanded to more than 70 regions and over 190 games. Some users reported seeing lower-than-standard prices, with personalised discounts up to 12.6 percent. PSPrices said U.S. discounts reached 27.8 percent.

Shift Up posts record 181.1 billion won operating profit in 2025
Shift Up said on Tuesday it posted record results in 2025, with revenue of 294.2 billion won, operating profit of 181.1 billion won and net profit of 191.1 billion won. In the fourth quarter, revenue was 64.1 billion won and operating profit was 37.1 billion won. Goddess of Victory: Nikke generated 166.8 billion won in annual sales and Stellar Blade 115.8 billion won. The company said it expects growth in both key IPs to continue in 2026.
