Shift Up is stepping up efforts to diversify platforms for global hit 'Stellar Blade' as it accelerates moves for the intellectual property's long-term performance and expansion of its global user base.
Shift Up said on Tuesday it will release a Nintendo Switch 2 version of the action-adventure game 'Stellar Blade', which it developed, within 2026.
The announcement was first unveiled through Nintendo's online showcase 'Nintendo Direct 2026', which aired worldwide on Monday. That will expand 'Stellar Blade' beyond PlayStation 5 and PC to Nintendo Switch 2.
The platform expansion extends a strategy to raise brand awareness and maintain sales momentum that Shift Up flagged during its first-quarter earnings announcement on May 1.
Shift Up posted consolidated first-quarter revenue of 47.3 billion won and operating profit of 21.5 billion won. At the time, 'Stellar Blade' revenue was 12.9 billion won, down 24.9 percent from the previous quarter, but the company had said it would actively review expanding to additional platforms along with promotions to manage long-term sales. The move into Nintendo is expected to help the flagship intellectual property rebound in sales and regain growth momentum.
An official trailer released the same day showcased 'Stellar Blade's' intense action and distinctive visuals optimised for the Nintendo Switch 2 environment, drawing interest from gamers globally.
Kim Hyung-tae (김형태), Shift Up's executive director, said it was meaningful that 'Stellar Blade' would reach more users through Nintendo Switch 2. He said the company would prepare so users can fully experience its signature action and immersion on the new platform.
