Game makers expand AI strategy from production efficiency to physical AI

Korean game companies are expanding their artificial intelligence strategies beyond improving game production efficiency into physical AI, increasing cooperation with outside firms in robotics, autonomous driving, defence, manufacturing and shipbuilding. NC AI is focusing on a world model to narrow the simulation-to-real gap and has won national projects and industry contracts with Hyundai Rotem, POSCO DX and Hanwha Ocean. Krafton is pairing its AI software with industrial data partners, joining projects with Hanwha Aerospace and Socar.

Tesla formalises China FSD, shifts strategy; no \'EV chasm\'

Tesla is adjusting its full self-driving (FSD) strategy in China, formalising its rollout while leaving the timing unclear and renaming the feature “Tesla assisted driving” in a move seen as aimed at regulation. Strategy shifts are also drawing attention to expansion in other Asian markets such as South Korea. Tesla is also facing production and supply-chain variables, intensifying competition from China and rivals, and broader changes in the EV market and mobility services driven by data and AI.

Socar cuts tire-related breakdowns 22 percent with AI diagnosis

Socar said it will jointly develop AI tire-reading technology with vehicle inspection AI solutions firm Autopedia. The companies have used Autopedia’s AI solution Doctor Tread since July last year to manage tire wear on Socar vehicles. From January to April, the rate of tire-related breakdowns fell 22 percent from a year earlier, and customer inconvenience cases dropped 20 percent. The new model aims to detect more types of tire abnormalities.
